Boundaries in Relationships

Setting Healthy Boundaries in Relationships

Relationships thrive when there is trust, respect, and healthy communication. However, many people struggle to set boundaries with partners, family members, friends, or coworkers. You may find yourself saying yes when you want to say no, taking responsibility for other people's emotions, or feeling drained by relationships that seem one-sided.

At Stephanie Booth Counseling, I help adults throughout Orlando, Oviedo, and Avalon Park learn how to establish healthy boundaries while maintaining meaningful connections.

Signs You May Need Healthier Boundaries

  • Difficulty saying no
  • Feeling responsible for everyone's happiness
  • Frequently feeling resentful or emotionally exhausted
  • Fear of disappointing others
  • People-pleasing behaviors
  • Trouble expressing your needs
  • Feeling guilty when prioritizing yourself
  • Repeatedly experiencing unhealthy relationships

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy can help you:

  • Identify unhealthy relationship patterns
  • Improve communication skills
  • Learn to express needs confidently
  • Reduce guilt and anxiety surrounding boundaries
  • Develop self-respect and self-trust
  • Build relationships that feel more balanced and fulfilling

Using evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we work together to create healthier patterns that support both your well-being and your relationships.
